Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy - John le Carré In this classic spy novel, British spymaster George Smiley is in a battle of wits against his Russian counterpart, Karla. It is clear to Smiley that there is a mole that is highly placed in British intelligence and it is up to Smiley to figure out who it is. More than just an action/spy novel, this story has a bit of a psychological element to it. Smiley is no James Bond. He has been kicked out of British Intelligence and his wife has left him with one of her many lovers. He is old and does not have the charm of a 007. But, he has a brilliant strategic mind and it is fun to watch him out manuever his nemesis. The best part of this audiobook is the narration by Frank Mueller - truly one of the best.
