Anne Tyler is always a pleasure to read. I like her style of writing and she creates such realistic and likeable characters - no evil villains, just ordinary people dealing with challenges in life. The protagonist in Saint Maybe is high school senior, Ian Bedloe, who makes the mistake of telling his brother something that ends in tragic consequences. For the next 25 years, Ian tries to earn redemption for his mistake. Good book and I can already tell that this will be a great discussion for our bookclub. But I often feel slightly dissatisfied at the end of Anne Tyler's books. The ending don't quite seem complete - maybe mirroring life?
