Animal's People

Animal's People - Indra Sinha Very interesting book about the Bhopal Union Carbide disaster. The main character is a boy who was born a few days after the chemical leak. His body becomes deformed and he is only able to move by walking on his hands and feet like an animal. This book presents such a vivid image of poverty and despair. It will leave you angry at corporations that do not take responsibility for their errors (hmmm... does Toyota fall into that category?) and wanting to do something to make a change. Although the subject matter is bleak, the narrative has humor and warmth. Definitely worth reading.
